Queen of pop, Madonna, having been accused of texting during a film, was denied entry into a US Cinema Chain recently. The 55-year-old superstar was caught with her phone during a screening of 12 Years a Slave at the New York Film Festival last week.
A member of the audience reportedly warned her to stop texting, of which she ignored. According to the report from the CEO of the Cinema Company, the rules were very clear - "If you talk or text, you will receive one warning. If it happens again, you will be kicked out without a refund. We have a zero-tolerant policy towards talking or texting during a movie".
Report from BBC News indicates that Madonna is expected to apologize to movie fans, after which she would be allowed to to watch movies at the Cinema House (Alamo Drafthouse Chain). But there has been no response from her or her representative yet.
The movie in question, "12 Years a Slave" is all about a free black man who was kidnapped into slavery in the 19th century. The movie has reportedly received a widespread recognition and accolades.
